My Time to Craft DT Challenge #260

Image
Good afternoon, my lovelies! My Time to Craft has our latest Challenge up and running, and it's a corker: White on White Christmas. That is, make something for Christmas and everything should be white except the image. In fact I didn't use an image, I got out my Spellbinders Poinsettias dies and made a 3D flower. Some embossing with a Snowflakes folder from Sizzix and a Christmas words folder free with a magazine, a bit of ribbon and a bit of sparkle, dots of Liquid Pearls on each of the embossed snowflakes and the centre of the flower, and there it is! I must apologise for the awful photo, though, the card looks much better irl! You have to go and see the amazing, beautiful creations made by my teamies, they are awesome! Then join in the Challenge - you'll have one more card for Christmas! Have a lovely weekend! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Get Well Soon!

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you have some lovely things planned for the weekend! Here is a card for a lady who hasn't been feeling well. To my total embarrassment I forgot to note where this lovely digi image came from! I know I used her a year or so ago, but unfortunately Mr Blogger seems to have forgotten about every post before January this year. *shakes fist* Curse you, Mr Blogger! If any of you recognise this beauty, please remind me so that I can give credit where credit is due. Eta: She is Fairy Fae by Delicious Doodles Thanks for reminding me! I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs, and went over the Butterflies with glitter glue. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy. the ribbon is from stash. The papers are yet another set from my 'magazine freebies' drawer - I think these are just gorgeous! The corners are cut with a Whimsy die, and also glittered. I am entering the Digi Sketch Challenge using the sketch and the theme 'Get Well Soon.' Thanks for looking, and

Dream Valley Challenges DT #91 - and a DT call!

Image
Good afternoon, all! We are having a DT Call at Dream Valley as sadly some of our lovely ladies have left. If you're interested, hop across to the blog and have a look at the requirements! No previous experience is necessary! On to the Challenge which this fortnight is Ribbon and Lace There is a Mystery Prize for one lucky winner! This is actually the second card I've made: the first was in the way when I knocked over a cuppa that my lovely hubby had made me! Tea stains and sogginess are not good looks for a card! Though in fact I like this one better, so all's well that ends well. The cute bear is by Lili of the Valley, and coloured with Promarkers. I paper pieced the balloons from 3 different papers, and distressed some of the edges with Faded Jeans Distress Ink to give an impression of shadows. Then I went over them with a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen. The hexagonal shapes are cut with a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is by American Crafts, from their &

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #78 Happy Birthday

Image
Sadly, this is the last Challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox I want to thank Linda, and all the DT ladies, for the last 2 very enjoyable years. Good luck, Linda, in whatever you do! For our final Challenge we have a classic theme: Happy Birthday! Our sponsor is The Paper Shelter and I used this adorable Cheerleader The colours in the photo aren't very accurate, the blue should be teal! The papers were magazine freebies (I'm on a mission to use up all of them!). I used the Spellbinders Floral Oval die to cut the patterned mat behind the image. She has been cut out and mounted on foam pads, and her pom-poms have been glittered. There is more glitter edging the sentiment label, which came with the same set of papers. The ribbon is from stash. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the little leaves were made with a Woodware punch. Do join in at our last Challenge, let's go out with a bang! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #259 'Fantasy'

Image
Good morning! I hope your weekend is going well! Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft is 'Fantasy' - a really fun theme! We also have a DT CALL - all the deets are on the blog, do go and see! The DT are a lovely bunch, so friendly and welcoming! Here is my Fantasy card, starring Autumn Fairy a digistamp from The Greeting Farm. I love her sly expression! I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs and glittered her wings. The papers are all from an 'Origins' 6x6 pad by Basic Grey, including the leaves, which were cut using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Leaves Dies The sentiment is from Penny Black Gratitude clear stamp set, and so is the flower motif. Well, I don't know if there is an Autumn Fairy at the bottom of my garden, but there are certainly a lot of leaves! Go and see the fantastic creations from the Team (especially Ema's!) and also the details of the DT Call! Thanks for looking! Mags B x

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #258 Halloween

Image
Edited to add: I'm so sorry, folks, I scheduled this post wrongly and sent it to Draft by mistake. Good morning, all, I hope you're having a great weekend! We had a brief visit from my son this week, on his way to see some of his friends; and then from my daughter, who is off to a baby shower today! Then tomorrow a young lady who I've known since she was 2 is getting married! It's lovely to see children growing up - but why does it have to happen so fast???!! Enough of this philosophising, it's time for another challenge at My Time to Craft and this week it's a spookily seasonal theme - Hallowe-e-e-e-n! Now, I don't actually 'do' Halloween trick or treating myself - I know several elderly ladies who lock their doors and switch off the lights because they're frightened of the 'tricks' that might be played on them. I also think that letting children go around knocking on strangers' doors asking for sweets isn't very safe: so

Blue and silver Wedding.

Hi, guys! I hope your week is going well! I am almost caught up with the washing and ironing created by our holiday last week in beautiful North Cornwall - we were only away for a week, so how come there was so much washing?! I took a break from the dreaded housework to be creative. This card is for a lovely couple who will be married on Sunday: I have known the bride since she was a baby, it doesn't seem like over a quarter of a century ago! As you can see, I got out my dies! The base card and Spellbinders Floral oval are in blue Centura Pearl. The Spellbinders decorative Labels 8 layer is cut from white card. The Tattered Lace dancing couple was cut twice, once in white card and once in silver glitter paper, I glued them together to give the image more body. Finally I added gems to the top and bottom of the white layer. Quick and easy, but quite effective, I think! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x Challenges entered: My Mum's Craft Shop use dies or punches

Dream Valley DT Challenge #90 No Stamps Allowed!

Image
Good afternoon, my lovelies! We have a Challenging Challenge at Dream Valley this fortnight! Put away those stamped images - rubber OR digi! Our sponsor is the fabulous Robyn's Fetish who are offering a lucky winner 3 digis from their online shop! I don't know about you, but when I make a card the first thing I reach for is a stamp, so this was, indeed, a Challenge for me! Fortunately, the second thing I reach for is a die. And if in doubt - make a Christmas card! So here I have used a Spellbinders Poinsettia set to cut and emboss the flower and leaves. I added a touch of gold glitter for some sparkle. The petals and leaves have just been glued in the middle, and then I raised up the edges for some dimension. The papers and ribbon are from stash. Go and see how my inventive teamies have risen to the Challenge, then have a go yourself! :) Thanks for looking, and have a good week! love Mags B x

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #77 For a male.

Image
Afternoon, all! Once again I apologise for any typos, I am still using the elderly laptop with the dodgy keyboard! At The Squirrel and the Fox we are being especially challenging this time - make a card for a bloke! So put away the ribbons and lace and flowers, you won't need 'em!! Our sponsor is the fabulous Sweet'n'Sassy Stamps who are offering a lucky winner 3 free digis from their store! The DT have used some of their gorgeous images: this one is the Lighthouse digi stamp. It is perfect for my brother's birthday later this month, as he and his family like to go sailing. I used some cloud patterned paper from stash for the background, then cut out an island shape in brown spotted paper. The image is coloured in Promarkers, with lots of gold glitter on the lamp, hallenge! and I cut it out and added it with foam pads for dimension. The 'sea' is torn strips of patterned blue paper, with stickles along the white edges, which is sparkly in real l

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #257 Teddy Bear's Picnic

Image
Afternoon, all! Please excuse any typos in this post, my laptop refuses to connect to the Internet, so I'm using an old one with a dodgy keyboard! It's My Time to Craft time again! And now that the summer holidays are over the challenge has returned to being WEEKLY! The theme is 'Teddy Bear's Picnic' and we'd love to see your cards featuring A Bear as the main image. (Background papers with bears on don't count!) James the Bear is a Lili of the Valley cutie! I coloured him with Promarkers and added Glossy Accents to the baubles and stickles to the tinsel. The mat is cut with a Spellbinders Lacey Squares die and the blue card is a large snippet! The papers are from Hobbycraft and the ribbon is from stash. I used a snippet of dull gold paper to punch the snowflakes, using a Martha Stewart punch. Do go and take a look at my teamies' lovely makes, then dig out your favourite Teddy Bear image and have a go! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x
