Image
Hi, guys! Our Challenge at My Time to Craft is Bugs and Insects That includes butterflies! However, whatever you choose, please make sure it's the main image or part of the main image, tiny bugs on background papers don't count ;) This adorable bee is by Paper Smooches from the Bee Mine stamp set, as is the sentiment. The background is the Hexagon Background by Hero Arts, I white embossed it and sponged with yellow Distress Inks, then used a spellbinders die to cut the hole where the bee is peeping out. The papers and twine are from stash. Buzz across to the Challenge blog and have a go! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #296 Valentine/Love

Image
Our new challenge at C.R.A.F.T Challenge is a topical one - Valentine or Love . this cute digi is Country Hearts designed by Floppy Latte for Stitchy Bear Stamps. I embossed the card front before adding the image, which is coloured with Promarkers. The image is edged with papers cut with a Fiskars Bubbles punch. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches, and I used a matching die to cut out the banner. Finally, I went over the hearts with a Wink of Stella pen. Our Sponsors: 1 Stitchy Bear Stamps have a $10 voucher as a prize Please note that now if you are in the EU and want to buy a digi from them there is a new system in place, because of the new EU VAT laws for digi downloads. Like so many other very small businesses, Stitchy Bear have had to change their methods and send purchases by e-mail, but it's well worth the wait! At least they are still in business, thank goodness! 2 Yours or Mine Papercrafts also have a $10 voucher as a prize. Have a look at my teamies'

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #276 'Two or more people'

Image
Good morning! I hope you're having a happy weekend! At My Time to Craft this week we have a very specific theme, we'd like to see Two or more people on your creation. And, remember, it doesn't have to be a card, any craft is welcome if it follows the Challenge rules! I did make a card, though! This totally adorable image is by Sarah Kay. They are coloured in Copics (I'm still practising!). I used 2 dies from Mama Elephant to cut the image with a postage stamp edge, and to cut the paper with a stitched edge. I used Distress Ink on the image mat. The background paper is from the Floral Pavilion stack by First Edition. The sentiment is by Studio Calico, it came with a kit. My teamies have excelled in their creations, as usual - go and see and be inspired! Remember we'd like to see at least 2 people on your creation!! Now I'm going to watch craft videos on Youtube and do a humongous pile of ironing! Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend.

Dream Valley DT Challenge #98 Anything Goes

Image
Welcome back to Dream Valley! I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday! We are back with an all-time favourite Challenge Anything Goes! Our sponsor is Gerda Steiner Designs . I used Iceskating Mouse - although he's really a Christmas image I thought he was perfect for a 'Hello' card for an ice-skating friend! I coloured him with my new Copics (I'm still getting used to them, but I love them!) and went round the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. The mat is cut with a Spellbinders Heart Circle die. I added some bakers twine from stash and the Scripty Hello die-cut is from Lawn Fawn The spotted paper is from the Summer Blues paper stack by Tilda - it came from Hobbycraft last year but unfortunately it seems to be out of print :( Skate over to Dream Valley and admire my teamies' gorgeous creations, and then why not join in? Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft Challenge #

Image
It's Saturday! That means there's another Challenge at My Time to Craft! Our theme is Love is All Around - that can be Valentine's Day, a Wedding, an Anniversary.... I went with a Valentine's card - a round one lol! The card base is made with a Spellbinders Circle Die: I scored half an inch down on the back circle and glued the resulting flap behind the front. The heart is cut with a Nellie Snellen die from white cardstock, then I embossed 'Love is everything' from the Favorite Flowers stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and coloured the heart with Festive berries Distress Ink. The papers are from the 'Love' 6x6 stack by Fancy Pants. I punched lots of circles and stuck them round the edge - a great idea from Kristina Werner This is a very bright card!!! Do go over to the Challenge Blog and see my teamies' creations and be inspired to 'feel the love' and join in! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

C.R.A.F.T.Challenge #294 Christmas

Image
Yes, our next C.R.A.F.T Challenge is Christmas! . Get ahead of yourself, every Christmas card made before December is a bonus lol!!! I don't think I've ever made one this early.... I used the beautiful Lady Jane by Scrapper's Delights and coloured her in Promarkers. I followed a tutorial in Donna-Marie's Colouring e-book though using different colours. I can highly recommend this book, it has taught me a lot. AND all the money goes to a homeless charity, too! The green mat is a Spellbinders Floral Oval die, and I added some red spotted paper from the snippets drawer. I used glittered poinsettia paper from a Christmas Vintage 12" x 12" pad by First Edition which came from Hobbycraft last year. The ribbon is from stash, and the Lili of the Valley sentiment was stamped in Tsukineko Delicata Gold Ink. We have one sponsor this week, Scrappers Delights I'm sure you have all begun to notice that some digistamp companies have closed or are no longer

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #274 Stripes

Image
Good morning! I hope you're all having a good weekend and that you're staying safe and warm if your weather is bad. I have been doing my traditional January tasks - clearing out all the out-of-date food that gathers in my kitchen and fridge/freezer! I'll have to do a Big Shop to replenish supplies!!! It was a nice change to make this card! Our Challenge this week is Stripes . You can use stripy papers, or stamp your stripes on your card, which is what I did. I used a stamp from Be Joyful by Simon Says Stamp, and shades of pigment inks by Mama Elephant in an ombre pattern. I cut my base paper with a frame die, also from Mama Elephant and after stamping cut a circle with a Spellbinders Die. The flower is from the Best Mom Ever stamp set, also by Simon Says Stamp. I stamped in black Versafine and clear-embossed, then watercoloured with Worn Lipstick Distress Marker. I added it behind the cut out with foam tape and used more foam tape to stick it onto my card base.

C.R.A.F.T Challenge #293 Not a Card!

Image
Good morning from a sunny but cold Hertfordshire! We have a new challenge at C.R.A.F.T Challenge - Not A Card I made a little recipe folder, following instructions on this youtube tutorial. The base is a very cheap file folder! This is the outside, inspired by the cute image which is Bunny Cherry Cupcake (with Carrots!) by Spyder's Other Corner. The text is die-cut with a Memory Box Classic Alphabet set . Here is the inside, showing pockets where recipes can be tucked in. Our lovely sponsors: Doctor Digi House of Stamps Spyder's Other Corner Diane's Daydream's Designs - sadly, she is closing down her shop, but go to our Challenge Blog and see the awesome prize she is offering! Put your thinking caps on and rustle up something that is Not A Card and enter our fab Challenge! Thanks for looking! love Mags B xx

Sad news

I apologise that I have been MiA quite a lot in the past fortnight. Sadly, my father was taken ill before Christmas, and he died at New Year. He was 95, which is a pretty respectable age, and until December had been in good health, for which we are all thankful. I don't yet know what needs sorting and organising at his house over the next 2 or 3 weeks, but he had no Internet so I may be a bit irregular! Thanks for being so patient! with love, Maggie xxx

CRAFT Challenge #292 Colour Combo

Happy New Year! The first C.R.A.F.T Challenge of 2015 is to use a really pretty colour combo. I used this adorable Octosailor from Karen's Doodles, one of our sponsors. The paper is from the Snippets drawer, and the round stickers in the corners are from Paperchase. Our lovely Sponsors: Pattie's Creations Digital Stamps Digital Delights by Louby Lou Karen's Doodles Wishing you all the best for 2015! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x
