Lace/Ribbon, Pink, Embossing.... and....

Yesterday I posted my DT card for Dream Valley which follows a Bingo card. You take ONE line, vertically, horizontally or diagonally, and that determines what you use on your card. Click on the pic to get a clearer view.

Now here is the first card I made for the Challenge, using Bookworm Fairy by Hannah Lynn for Crafts and Me who are one of our sponsors. I thought I'd go with lace/ribbon, pink and embossing.

So what is it about this card that would have made it ineligible if I'd entered the Challenge? There's EMBOSSING on PINK Centura Pearl cardstock, the image is mostly PINK and there is a row of LACE and RIBBON at the bottom. The sentiment is EMBOSSED, too.

But.... the image has been DIE CUT with a Spellbinders Majestic Labels Eight DIE. There are PEARLS added. And there's a panel of PATTERNED PAPER from Lili of the Valley

I must have been away with the fairies when making this card, because I've used too many of the items on the Bingo grid! Though I did enjoy making it, and the fairy's wings have a pretty shimmer from a clear Wink of Stella pen. All's well that ends well, though, I made another card that was a proper fit for the Challenge. I also have this to send as a birthday card to a particular person, too!!

And the moral of that tale is: check and check your Challenges again!

Thanks for looking!

Dream Valley Challenge #116 Bingo!

Evening, all! I hope you're all keeping well. I was feeling very sorry for myself last week, as I had a nasty cold: but that was put into perspective when I learned that an older friend from Church had had a fall and broken her hip. She's in hospital, hating the food and bored to tears: she is a very good cook and extremely active, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be!

My DT make for the new Dream Valley Challenge is my friend's Get Well card, and first here are the details of the Challenge which is Bingo

Select three items from the chart, going horizontally, vertically or diagonally:

Our sponsors are:

Crafts and Me

and The Hobby House

For my card I used the line at the bottom of the grid, Flowers, Embossing and Blue

I used Centura Pearl card and a freebie embossing folder for the background, and coloured the row of dots with a blue Sakura pen. The flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from an old Whiff of Joy set and is gold-embossed.

Now go and see the inspiration my teamies have provided. And tomorrow I'll post the first card I made for this Challenge, which didn't really follow the rules.....

Thanks for looking, and have a good week!

My Time to Craft Challenge #305 Alice Inspired.

Hi, guys! We have an absolutely wonderful Challenge at My Time to Craft this fortnight: Alice Inspired Yep, we'd like to see anything inspired by 'Alice in Wonderland.'

I went with Alice herself!

The image is by Christina Dee for the much-missed Tickled Pink Stamps. Bunny Zoe's Crafts do still have some of the stamps if you want to have a look.

I used a Spellbinders Floral Oval die and blue Centura Pearl card as a mat for the image. The papers are from stash, I edged the vertical strip with white card punched with a Fiskar's Apron Lace border punch and added lace from Thge Ribbon Girl and ribbon from my stash. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley. I added a pearly flower and a tiny blue gem to Alice's hat (mainly because I made a right pig's ear of colouring the flower that's there on the image!) and added Wink of Stella clear to the butterfly visible on the background paper.

Go and see the inspirational work my teamies have created, they are a very clever bunch! And don't forget that you now have a Fortnight in which to enter the Challenge!

Thanks for looking!

CRAFT Challenge #330 Inspiration Picture

Morning, all! Our new CRAFT Challenge is a picture inspiration.

Isn't it beautiful?

Our sponsors are:

Bugaboo Stamps

and Pickled Potpourri Designs

I went for a Bugaboo image, this is Rain, Rain

The papers are from stash, the sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp from the Color and Sunshine set.

I took the colours from the inspiration picture, and also the watery theme of the image, and added the rainbow umbrella because often when the sunlight catches a waterfall just right, a rainbow appears!

CRAFT Challenge #329 Add some Bling.

Good morning! Our CRAFT Challenge this week is to use Bling!. Gems, pearls, gold or silver card, glitter - you name it!

Our fab sponsor is Scrapper's Delights and the team were given some totally adorable images to use!

There is a sale on, too!

The cute image of a girl opening a present immediately made me think of a tag. I used a Sissix Tim Holtz tag die to cut two, one out of paper and one out of card to strengthen it.

The papers were a RAK from my daughter. All the edges are distressed with Tea Dye distress Ink to give a shabby chic look. The strip of striped paper on the left has been edged with a Fiskar's Threading Water punch, and a length of lace added over the top. The rolled roses are made with an MFT Die-namics Mini Rolled Roses die and the centres filled with gold Glamour Dust.

The Butterfly (Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page) has more Glamour Dust edging the wings, and gems along its body. The gem swirl came from Hobbycraft. The image was coloured, cut out, and mounted with 3D foam on a white circle then a silver scallopped circle. The bow and ribbon are from stash.

Phew! I may have gone over the top with the Bling - silver card, clear gems, glitter - but I had such fun making this!!

Go and be inspired by the Blingtastic creations that my teamies have made!

Dream Valley Challenge #115 Autumn Colours

here is my belated post for the new Dream Valley Challenge, which is the very topical Autumn Colours. Think red, orange, brown, tan, green.....

Our sponsor is the wonderful Robyn's Fetish. I used a gorgeous autumnal image called Cornucopia

I used papers and card from stash to layer, and Tea Dye Distress Ink around the die-cut image. The sentiment is made with stickers from an old docraft set which I've had for 5 years! It's always good to use up stash!!

My teamies have made some gorgeous autumnal creations, be sure to check them out to be inspired!!

My Time to Craft Challenge #304 Owls

That thudding sound is me *headdesking* because I mucked up my scheduling for this post (and the Dream Valley one, too!) I apologise!!!

The new Challenge at My Time to Craft is Owls

I used a Woodware Patch an Owl stamp and paper pieced it with papers from stash. The background paper and scallopped border are made with LotV Country Lady papers (they are gorgeous!) The sentiment came with the stamp set.

My teamies have produced the most wonderful variety of Owls to inspire you, do, please go and see!

CRAFT Challenge #328 Christmas

Good morning!

We have another of our regular Christmas Challenges at C.R.A.F.T Challenge and two ace sponsors!

QKR Stampede

Sweet Stamps

I used a fab image from QKR Stampede, Merry Christmas. I like that the sentiment is included in the image!

The paper is from stash, I used the colours for my copic colouring on the snowman. I layered the image on gold and red card, rounding one corner with my corner chomper. I added a green and gold ribbon, then glued everything onto gold card and then a red A6 ready-made card. I added stickles to the snowflakes on the image. I really like the result, it's sweet 'n' simple!

Go and see what my teamies have made to inspire you, they are so talented!

Thank You die cut card

Oh gosh, it's 1.30 am and I really should be asleep! I have been watching the tv series 'Grimm' on DVD tonight and didn't realise how time was passing! It's a really good show, try it!

I'm here to show one of the Thank You cards that I made for the lovely people who helped out at the childrens' Holiday Club that we held at Church at the end of August.

I apologise for the slightly blurry picture.

The die is a Die'sire Create-a-Card by Crafter's Companion. I used purple Centura Pearl card, rolling it through my Cuttlebug 4 or 5 times to make sure all the bits were cut. Then I spent forever poking out the cut bits and applying glue to all the curlicues! Finally I added blobs of green pearl pen to the centres of the flowers.

In all, I made eight, in pink and purple and white, and I was very pleased with them! So, I'm glad to say, were the recipients - isn't it encouraging when people really appreciate a card that you've made for them?

Ok, I'm off to bed!!! Thanks for looking!

CRAFT Challenge #327 Gift Bag or Box.

Hi, guys! For the next CRAFT Challenge we would like to see a Gift Bog or Box.

Our sponsors are:

The Cutting Cafe

and Whoopsie Daisy

I used a template from The Cutting Cafe to make a Book Box

The papers and die cuts are from the 'Winterbird' 12 x 12 pad by Tilda. I added metal corners (I think they were from Whiff of JoY) to the front and back, and a pink ribbon to tie it.

Here is the inside, showing the box. It will hold a diary for my daughter for Christmas.

Thanks for looking!
