The fun image is AKV House by Bugaboo Stamps. It cried out for primary colours! The papers are from the 'Ad Lib' collection by Bo Bunny. I added two pieces of velvet ribbon from my stash. The sentiment is an old one from Lili of the Valley and I used a Word Bubbles die by Paper Smooches - and then a tiny silver heart to cover a smudge!!

Our wonderful sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #27 and a DT Call!

We have a DT Call at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - check it out here.

I used an embossing folder and pearlised card for my card.

The die-cut poinsettia also has embossing on the leaves and petals. I used stickles on the centres of the snowflakes.

Sorry I'm so late with this!

Dream Valley DT #177 At least 2 Buttons!

Happy Monday, everyone! Our new Challenge at Dream Valley is to use At Least 2 Buttons on your creation!

I used 6 little wooden buttons that came free with a magazine!

The cute image is Little Flower Girl by All Dressed Up Stamps.

I used papers from the Snippets Drawer and matched the Copics I used to the colours in the papers. I added some crochet lace to match the rustic buttons, and the sentiment is a sticker from an old Love From Lizi kit.

Our sponsor is All Dressed Up.

CRAFT Challenge #463 Christmas

Hi, guys! It's time once again for our regular Christmas theme at CRAFT Challenge.

The lovely image is Holy Night by The Paper Shelter. I used one of my all-time favourite Spellbinders dies to cut the mat Labels Four and Decorative Labels 4 (which sadly I can't find online.)

The gold-embossed sentiment is by Clearly Besotted - and is 25% off in their Clearance Sale! The papers are from an old Papermania pad and I added Nuvo Drops to the centres of the flower shapes.

Our sponser is The Paper Shelter.

My Time to Craft - A Box or Bag with matching Tag

Morning, all! Happy weekend!

Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft is to make a box or a bag with a matching tag. Quite an unusual Challenge - and it rhymes, too!!

My tag was die-cut with a Simon Says Stamp Tag Die and the box was cut with the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Treats Box die. I used 2 co-ordinating Bo Bunny patterned cardstocks, both now out of print. I love the teal colour!

The rose die is from a Love From Lizi kit from last year. I die-cut the outline from antique gold cardstock, then inlaid green and pink. It took ages, but I love the effect!

Here's a close-up of the tag:

and here's the box:

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted and the ribbon is from stash.

My teamies have worked wonders with the theme, as usual, do take a look! Then, if you want a change from making a card, go for a box or bag and a tag!

Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend!

I used some old papers from stash. The image is cut with a Memory Box Postage Edge die, and the banner die is from Simon Says Stamp. The Sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Our sponsor is the fab Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

Have a look at the inspiration that my teamies have left on the blog!

Now I must put out the rubbish bins ready for tomorrow morning!

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #26

Hi, guys! It seems a little odd to be thinking of Christmas just after Easter, but we have a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge where the theme is always Anything Goes.

We have a new member of the Design Team, Renate who is from The Netherlands. Check out her blog, her cards are gorgeous!

I have recently been looking over my embossing folders, and found a Sizzix Woodgrain design that goes perfectly with a woodgrain star stamp which came in a kit last year from Love From Lizi.

The star and the sentiment came with the kit, I embossed them both in gold. The blue banner is a snippet from my paper stash. The embossed background is a snippet of antique gold pearl card. I added some bakers' twine and then went around the border with a Distress Marker - I used Gathered Twigs, which is a wee bit too dark, but never mind!!

Do go and see my teamies' lovely creations and be inspired to make something Christmassy - it doesn't have to be a card!

Dream Valley #176 Dry Embossing

Hi, guys! I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend!

Now we have a new Challenge at Dream Valley and it's to use Dry Embossing on your creation.

While sorting through my embossing folders I came across one with this geometric pattern that reminds me of the patterns on metal stairs meant to give your shoes a better grip. I also needed a card for a bloke, so I dug out some silver mirror card and some metal cogs from stash. The strip of paper is from an old Authentique pad - I like how the print gives the impression of texture. The sentiment is cut with dies by Marianne from a scrap of black glitter cardstock.

Go and admire my teamies' creations, they are so varied!

My Time to Craft! Challenge #367 Sketchy Time!

Hello, my dearios! I hope you're all having a great weekend!

Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft! is this fabulous sketch:

Simple yet elegant, don't you think?

Rather than add an image to the sketch, I stamped a gingham pattern. It has a distressed look (because my stamping was a little heavy-handed in places!) Take a look:

Everything except the silver-embossed sentiment by lawn fawn and the tag cut with an old MFT die comes from the Simon Says Stamp March 2018 card kit. I also added some vellum circles under the flowers - the flowers and leaves were coloured with Copics and fussy-cut with a narrow white border and are raised on foam dots and covered with Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen.

I finished the card by rounding all the corners with my good old corner chomper and went round the edge with a white gel pen. It shows just enough to give a bit of interest.

I am so pleased with this card! It's for a particular friend who's been unwell, and I think she'll like it!

Do go and see the gorgeous interpretations of the sketch left for you by my talented and inventive teamies, they will inspire you to join in!

Hi, guys! Our new Challenge at CRAFT Challenge is Spring or Easter.

This fab image is Flower Egg by Eureka Stamps. The background paper is from an old First Edition pad called 'Spring Fling' and I added green mirror peel-offs and also some NuvoJewel Drops both from Love From Lizi. The mat is made with an old Spellbinders Lattice die and the sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Our fab sponsor is Eureka Stamps.

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #25 and DT call!

Our DT Call runs until the end of March! Check out the post here!

Hi, guys! I love blue and white for Christmas and winter cards, it's such a clean and fresh combination!

I used an old Hero Arts/Basic Grey background stamp with Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue ink on the front of the card. The paper behind the circle opening is from stash. The snowflakes are cut from plain white card and given sparkle with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. The sentiment is silver-embossed and edged with a blue glitter gel pen.

It has been very wintry of late, with snow and bitter winds, but Spring begins tomorrow and hopefully we'll see more sun!

Go and see my teamies' gorgeous creations, and check out that DT Call!

Hi, guys! There's a new Challenge at Dream Valley and it's Spring Colours. Spring is just around the corner - the clocks go forward in the UK this coming weekend on Palm Sunday!

The adorable image is Will Work For Carrots by Paper Nest Dolls. The background paper is from an old First Edition set and is gorgeous - the images are all matt and the background has glitter all over it!

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, it came in a kit. I added 3 dots of Nuvo Drops under the image, but because of the glitter background the card didn't need anything else.

Our sponsor is : Paper Nest Dolls.

My teamies have left some gorgeous inspiration for you, so ignore the snow and the bitter wind, get out your Spring Colours and join the fun!

CRAFT Challenge #459 Animals

Hi, guys! If it's Thursday there must be a new CRAFT Challenge! Our new theme is nice and easy - Animals.

Here are some frogs having fun!

Aren't they cute? The image is from ScrapNDipity. I used papers from an old Bo Bunny collection called 'Ad Lib.' The sentiment is from Altenew's Label Love stamp set.

I cut the centre panel too narrowly and had to add another piece, and I covered the seam with some very old paper ribbon to hide it! There's usually some way to hide a mistake, isn't there?

Our sponsors this week:

ScrapNDipity

and DRS Designs.

Do hop along to the Challenge blog and enjoy the fab inspiration my teamies have left to inspire you!

Thanks for looking and have a good weekend! (Not long now!)

My Time to Craft #366 Easter/Spring

Good morning! Whan you read this I will be busy helping out with the annual Church Spring Clean! It's a lot of fun, loads of laughter and also CAKE to keep us going!

In the meantime I've scheduled today's post for our new Challenge at My Time to Craft where our theme is Easter or Spring.

In keeping with my New Year's Revolution to USE my kits I have found an image printed on TH watercolour cardstock from Simon Says Stamp's March 2016 kit.

I used Distress Inks to colour the image, then cut round the top edge and layered it on foam pads on a piece of distressed blue paper from stash. The sentiment is also from an SSS kit, and the speech bubble is from an old Paper Smooches set. I added sparkle to the Easter eggs and Glossy accents to the chick's bill and heart.

My watercolouring is slo-o-o-wly improving but still not as good as I'd like. Practice makes perfect!!

Go and see my teamis' lovely creations, and join in the Challenge - SPRING IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!!

Thanks for looking and have a fab weekend!

And Happy Mothering Sunday, too!

CRAFT Challenge #458 Christmas

We have our regular Christmas Theme at CRAFT Challenge this week!

This cutie is Overstuffed Santa by Lacy Sunshine stamps. I love that his toy sack is stuffed with delicious cookies!

All the papers are from an old pad by Kaisercraft, including the sentiment. The glitter trim at the top is made with a punch and I used the trimmings to add to the bottom of the card to give more festive bling!

Our fab sponsor is Lacy Sunshine.

Be Dazzling!

Morning, all!

One of my New Year's Revolutions was to USE the card kits that I have amassed over the years! I have been making cards with a kit from Love From Lizi.

I rounded two corners of my base card, added a strip of Versamark ink and gold-embossed, then added a pretty paper from the ket and a gold glitter peel-off.

The gorgeous wooden diamond is gilded, it's much more gold irl. I added gold and white bakers twine from my stash. The sentiment is from a cut-out that came with the kit, I added Glossy Accents to the letters. The star banners are made with a die that came with the kit, backed with gold glitter card. Finally I added sequins.

Not my usual style, (and the photo makes the colours look dull, unfortunately - there's a lot of gold sheen and glitter here!) but I like it!

Thanks for looking!

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #24 - and a DT Call!

Evening, all!

We have a DT Call at The Holly and Ivy so check out the post here fo all the details!

As always, the Challenge is Anything Christmas Goes and it's not just for cards!

However, I did make a card because I wanted to use this digi from Make It Crafty. He is called Floppy and he's so cute!

All the papers are from an ancient Papermania pad, and the sentiment came free with a magazine. The ribbon is from stash. I added lots of Stickles to Floppy's hat to give him some Festive bling!

We are now back to our fortnightly timetable.

Go and see my teamies' creations and check out the DT Call. It's open to anyone!

Thanks for looking! Goodnight, all!

Dream Valley Challenge #174 Vintage

Hi, guys! We have a new Challenge at Dream Valley - Vintage!

Our lovely sponsor is Di's Digi Stamps and I have used this fabulous 1920s Flapper Girl image, which I have had for some time. Sadly she is out of print now.

The background paper and sentiment are from the Downton Abbey collection from Crafter's Companion, they were a magazine freebie. The pearls and lace are from stash.

For the frame around the image I cut 3 frames with Spellbinders dies and glued them together, then added gold Nuvo mousse to the top layer. All the edges are distressed lightly with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

My teamies have made some beautiful cards following the theme! Charleston over to the Challenge blog and have a look!

Hello Unicorn!

Evening, all! I hope you've had an enjoyable weekend! I am relaxing with a bijou sherryette as a chicken casserole simmers away on the stove!

I recently made this card for a friend of my daughter. Laura is a writer of horror stories - now, I'm not a big horror fan, but her book Naming the Bones is so very good. Do check it out!

The adorable Hello Unicorn is by The Greeting Farm. The paper is gorgeous, it's covered in glitter, and is from an old paper pad by Kaisercraft called 'Save the Date.'

Time to check on the spuds and casserole and open the wine!

Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Happy St David's Day!

As it's Thursday, there is a new Challenge at CRAFT Challenge and it's this great sketch:

You can turn it round but we have to be able to see the sketch.

My card uses Magical Princess by Digital Paper Craft.

I added sparkle to her dress and Glossy Accents to her crown. The paper is Petticoats and Pinstripes by Echo Park. The sentiment came with a magazine freebie and I added a little stamped heart between the words. The ribbon and gems are from stash.

Our sponsor this week is the fab Digital Paper Craft

My Time to Craft #365 Monochrome

Hi, guys! Our Challenge this fortnight is Monochrome - that is, use shades of just one colour on your creation (skin and hair don't count!)

I got out my Distress Inks and did some embossed resist!

I used an old stamp set from Clearly Besotted to stamp and heat-emboss three dragonflies and some little hearts onto watercolour paper, then wet the paper. I squished some Seedless Preserves onto a craft mat and used that to paint. Then I added some sequins, a sentiment from the stamp set, and a purple banner. I liked it so much that I had another go, this time with Victorian Velvet!

This one DOES NOT FIT THE CHALLENGE because one of the banners is purple, not pink - but I wanted to show you anyway!

Hop over to the Challenge blog to see my teamies' gorgeous creations!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

CRAFT Challenge #456 Alien/Fantasy

Hi, guys! How's things? I can't believe it's Thursday already and time for another CRAFT Challenge. Our fun theme this week is Alien or Fantasy!

This is Saucer Head from Doctor Digi. I love his anxious expression and the way he's clutching the steering whell, just like any other learner driver! I coloured him in Copics, adding shimmer pen to the Saucer and Glossy Accents over the lights.

The papers are actually from an out of print pad by Crate Paper called 'School Spirit Collection' and not a special 'space' collection, but I like the hexagons, and the distressed circles make me think of planets! The silver embossed sentiment is from an old stamp set from a long time ago which has lost its packaging.

Our fab sponsor is Dr Digi's House of Stamps.

This was such a fun card to make! Zoom across to the Challenge blog and check out my teamies fab creations!

Thanks for looking and have a good day!
