My Time to Craft #365 Monochrome

Image
Hi, guys! Our Challenge this fortnight is Monochrome - that is, use shades of just one colour on your creation (skin and hair don't count!) I got out my Distress Inks and did some embossed resist! I used an old stamp set from Clearly Besotted to stamp and heat-emboss three dragonflies and some little hearts onto watercolour paper, then wet the paper. I squished some Seedless Preserves onto a craft mat and used that to paint. Then I added some sequins, a sentiment from the stamp set, and a purple banner. I liked it so much that I had another go, this time with Victorian Velvet! This one DOES NOT FIT THE CHALLENGE because one of the banners is purple, not pink - but I wanted to show you anyway! Hop over to the Challenge blog to see my teamies' gorgeous creations! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #456 Alien/Fantasy

Image
Hi, guys! How's things? I can't believe it's Thursday already and time for another CRAFT Challenge. Our fun theme this week is Alien or Fantasy! This is Saucer Head from Doctor Digi. I love his anxious expression and the way he's clutching the steering whell, just like any other learner driver! I coloured him in Copics, adding shimmer pen to the Saucer and Glossy Accents over the lights. The papers are actually from an out of print pad by Crate Paper called 'School Spirit Collection' and not a special 'space' collection, but I like the hexagons, and the distressed circles make me think of planets! The silver embossed sentiment is from an old stamp set from a long time ago which has lost its packaging. Our fab sponsor is Dr Digi's House of Stamps. This was such a fun card to make! Zoom across to the Challenge blog and check out my teamies fab creations! Thanks for looking and have a good day! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #364 Love Is All We Need

Image
Morning, all! Happy Valentine's Day! I apologise for the lateness of this post, we had a rather busy weekend and I forgot! Sorry! Our current Challenge at My Time to Craft! is Love Is All We Need. I used a digi by The Greeting Farm called 50s Sweetheart . The mat is a Spellbinders Heart Circles Die. The papers are from a very old K & Company pad which sadly is out of print. I also used little heart-shaped gems from my stash and two gorgeous glitter peel-offs which came from a kit from Love From Lizi. My teamies have made some gorgeous creations to inspire you - go and see! I hope you're all having a good week. I don't know about you guys, but I find February to be the dreariest month of the year: the weather is always grotty! However, there are yellow crocuses beginning to peep out of the ground in the garden, and soon it will be Spring, hooray! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #23

Image
Good morning, my little pot plants! I hope you're all keeping well! We have a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge where the theme is always Anything Christmas Goes. I made half a dozen little cards in shades of blue and here are two of them: I used a Wreath stamp by Clearly Besotted, which is now out of print, but there's another similar set here. I stamped the base and the baubles in different shades of blue pigment ink, and the separate bow in red. I added Wink of Stella to the baubles and also Glossy Accents on top. I used two of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Square Stackables from the large and small sets to cut the image and mat. The embossed sentiment is by Waffle Flower from the Stocking stamp set. Quick and easy to make multiples! It's never too soon to start making Christmas cards! Go and see my teamies' pretty creations and join in the Festive fun! The Challenge is open until 4th March. Thanks for looking, and enjoy your day!

Dream Valley Challenge #172 3 Patterned Papers

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! I hope you all had a great weekend - we were visited by the grandchildren (and their parents!) which was lovely. The house seems very quiet now! We have an interesting new Challenge at Dream Valley - Use Three Patterned Papers. A good way to use up those snippets we all save! I apologise for the wonky photo! I used A girl can't have too many... rubber stamp by All Dressed Up for Little Darlings Rubber Stamps. She is so chic, with her elegant shoes and hat! I think of her as une Parisienne, so I used papers from the Paris Girl collection by Echo Park/Carta Bella. The Eiffel Tower chipboard was a magazine freebie a looooong time ago. The ribbon is from stash. I used a Penny Black Heart String die to cut the hearts swag from the same paper I used at the bottom of the card. The sentiment is from and old stamp set by Lili of the Valley. Our sponsor this fortnight is the fabulous All Dressed Up Stamps. Go and see my teamies' great c

CRAFT Challenge #453 Three of a Kind

Image
Hi, guys! We have a fun theme at CRAFT Challenge - Three of a Kind. My card made me smile even while I was making it, the smiling stars are so happy! This is 'Happy Stars' by Rick St Dennis and sadly it's no longer available. I used Salty Ocean Distress Ink around the edges and also around the sentiment. Sadly the Simon Says Stamp sentiment is also out of print. I die-cut a star as a mat - originally I used patterned paper, but it didn't show very well so I went with cardstock. The papers are from stash. I used double sided tape and glitter to make the border strips. My Three of a Kind are the 3 stars of the image; the 3 gold stars on the sentiment; and (if the cardstock counts!!) 3 papers. Our sponsor is Rick St Dennis Thanks for looking! love Mags B x
